Inspiré de la scène punk DIY australienne, The Sweep Show cherche à apporter une énergie brute, dérisoire et enfantine à un monde qui se prend trop au sérieux. Guitares agressives, synthés débiles et lyricisme décalé : une recette idéale pour une bonne dose de n’importe quoi qui risque de donner soif. The Sweep Show est le projet personnel de Killian Mugglestone, bassiste de Douves (garage/punk, Nantes) et membre des collectifs Banana Derby et Mostä, investis dans l’organisation de concerts underground sur la région nantaise. Le projet naît suite à une année en Australie et plus précisément à Melbourne où la densité et la qualité de projets de punk DIY inspirent Killian à suivre cette dynamique et à l’implanter à Nantes. The Sweep Show prend ainsi la forme d’un projet autoproduit et authentique alliant dérision et énergie derrière une identité légère, enfantine et humoristique, rappelant les spectacles de marionnettes pour enfants, à la sauce punk. Le projet évolue également en mettant en place une formation live pour se produire dans les bars et salles de concerts à la suite de la sortie de son premier EP : OZ.

Inspired by the Australian DIY punk scene, The Sweep Show brings a raw, grotesque and childish energy to a world that takes itself too seriously. Aggressive guitars, stupid synths and eccentric lyrics make the perfect recipe for a good fix of nonsense that will certainly make you thirsty.
The Sweep Show is the latest project of Killian Mugglestone, bassist in Douves (garage/punk, Nantes) and active member of Banana Derby and Mostä, two collectives who organize underground gigs in and around Nantes. The project was born following a year in Australia, in particular in Melbourne where the density and the quality of DIY punk projects inspired Killian to follow their lead and establish his own in Nantes. The Sweep Show is a self-produced and fully authentic project, mixing mockery and energy with a light, childish and witty identity which recalls children puppet shows spiced with a punk sauce! The Sweep Show is rapidly evolving to be a live line up ready to play pubs and venues subsequent to the release of the first EP : OZ.
